On September 20th, BBF celebrated its 60th Anniversary at a gala that took place in the UPMC Club, Heinz Field. It was a lovely evening with over 400 guests in attendance, all were moved to see how many old friends and passionate supporters came to share in the incredible story of the work of BBF that began in 1958.
Special thanks for the evening go to the gala co-chairs, Susan and Roy Dorrance and Caroline and Tom Wentling, who provided guidance and backing that led to a simply wonderful event. Throughout the night, speakers guided the audience through BBF’s impactful history, its recent efforts focusing on disaster response, and plans for the next 60 years. There were emotional accounts of the recent on-going response in Puerto Rico and BBF President Luke Hingson’s very personal relationship with the work of the Foundation.
While the pictures can’t quite do the event justice, we’d like to share a few highlights with you. Notations of the gala sponsors who made the evening possible are listed below with our sincere thanks.
