Brother’s Brother Foundation is partnering with Gleaning for the World and Brethren Disaster Ministries (BDM), in preparing a response to the Hurricane Florence. Both organizations are monitoring the hurricanes and preparing to respond by staying in communication with local partners and voluntary organizations in these communities to identify unmet needs and make connections for Brother’s Bother Foundation to support the response and recovery. If needed, this will include sending relief supplies and kits from the Brethren Service Center in New Windsor, MD.
BBF, a 60-year old Pittsburgh-based international charity, has provided over 105,400 tons of medical supplies, textbooks, food, seeds, and other humanitarian supplies to people around the world in over 149 countries. With the help of gifts from the general public, corporations and foundations, in 2017 BBF sent product contributions to those in need in 58 countries. These shipments were the equivalent of 113 tractor trailer loads. In 2017 BBF also provided medicine and supplies for 343 hand-carry mission trips.
Forbes Magazine highlighted BBF with a 100% rating for both fundraising efficiency and charitable commitment of the 50 largest charities reviewed in 2017. The Better Business Bureau continues to give BBF its “Wise Giving Alliance Standards” seal of approval.
