BBF Responds to Hurricane Maria with Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

BBF invites the press to speak with BBF President, Luke Hingson and Ron Alvarado, Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Chamber President, at 3:00 p.m.  September 21st in the BBF office located at 1200 Galveston Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.

BBF is partnering with the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to respond to the devastation in Puerto Rico. Speaking this morning with Ron Alvarado, Chamber President, he stated that “I was in touch [via cell phone] with Luis Clemente who is in Puerto Rico…but phone service is “choppy” and we kept getting cut off.  He informed me that he was in touch with the Governor of Puerto Rico [Ricardo Rosselló] this morning…and Luis will be texting me (if he can get through) items that are needed on the island.”

BBF anticipates sending requested medical supplies and humanitarian assistance to partners in the affected area as soon as possible. BBF President, Luke Hingson reminds all, “BBF has a policy during disasters that clearly states 100% of disaster funds go to help people in the disaster area.”
