BBF to Respond to Recent United States Tornadoes

BBF and Gleaning for the World Respond to Tornadoes

Gleaning for the World (GFTW), supported by Brother’s Brother Foundation (BBF), is sending two requested relief shipments for distribution at the Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plato, Texas in response to a recent string of tornadoes which heavily damaged the area.  The first shipment, consisting of blankets, water and stuffed animals for children will be sent from Gleaning for the World’s warehouse in Concord, Virginia. The second shipment will carry personal care items, furniture, pet food and a variety of other supplies. BBF is accepting donations to help fund this effort. 100% of funds received for these shipments will be used to support this effort.

BBF and GFTW have joined together to serve those in need after numerous disasters including Hurricane Sandy; tornadoes in Moore, Oklahoma; water contamination in Charleston, West Virginia; and flooding in the Carolinas.

BBF, a 57-year old Pittsburgh-based international charity, has provided over 102,336 tons of medical supplies, textbooks, food, seeds, and other humanitarian supplies to people around the world in over 140 countries. With the help of gifts from the general public, corporations and foundations, in 2014 BBF sent product contributions to those in need in 60 countries. These shipments were the equivalent of 231 tractor trailer loads. In 2014 BBF also provided supplies for 103 medical hand-carry mission trips and medicine for 267 hand-carry mission trips.
