BBF is supporting the delivery of 34 plus trailer loads of donated water, food, medical items etc. for those in need in Florida and Texas with the help of Gleaning For The World. This includes 11 plus trailer loads from larger food banks in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Virginia.
- Two trailer loads of food from corporations
- Two trailer loads of simple medical supplies and safety items from BBF’s inventory in Pittsburgh
- Two trailer loads collected by BBF/NCA (Washington/Baltimore)
A tractor trailer load of frozen meats donated by Clemens Food Group to Philabundance, will be sent by BBF to the Food Bank at Ft. Myers tomorrow. A second similarly donated frozen meat container, along with a non-perishable container, will leave Philabundance for Houston and Ft. Myers next Tuesday, respectively. Shipping for all containers was arranged by BBF through Gleaning for the World. BBF’s request for new school supplies continues until October 31st.
100% of donated funds will be used to pay for shipping and to purchase other supplies.

Education Supply Hurricane Response Donations:
In response to Hurricane Harvey, BBF is currently requesting either monetary donations to help with shipping costs and bulk purchases of relief supplies or educational supply donations including:
– new writing pads or loose-leaf paper
– 24-count boxes of crayons
– 2-inch erasers
– unsharpened pencils
– hand held pencil sharpeners
– child-safe scissors
All education supply hurricane response donations should be placed in 5-gallon buckets (lids included).
(buckets can be purchased at 84-Lumber, Home Depot, LOWES and Walmart).
School supplies will be received by BBF for this effort until October 31,2017.
