On Friday, November 21, 2014 from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm Global Health Education Outreach will host a free symposium on Ebola awareness at the David L. Lawrence Convention, Downtown. Experts from the Allegheny Health Department, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and professionals in other fields will speak on strategies, policies, and on the ground responses to the outbreak.
A fundraising concert will be presented from 6:00 pm- 11:00 pm. Proceeds will benefit Brother’s Brother Foundation (BBF). For concert tickets, visit www.eventbrite.com. or call 412-708-1096. Tickets are not available on site. The symposium is free, but registration in advance is required. BBF works with partners in Sierra Leone and Liberia to continue to provide medical supplies and equipment to community hospitals and clinics. Since June, 2014 BBF has sent 13 container shipments and one air shipment in response to the Ebola outbreak.
