Wednesday, June 30, 2010
Brother’s Brother Foundation (BBF) is sending a requested container of medical donations to ELWA Hospital in Liberia. Financial support for the shipping comes from a donation by Mr. Robert Peirce. Mr. Peirce has made several trips to Liberia and established a number of contacts with medical facilities including ELWA Hospital and Buchannan Hospital.
A 40′ ocean-going container of requested medical supplies for Liberia will load at 9:00 am tomorrow, Wednesday, June 30th at BBF’s warehouse. This shipment will contain surgical instruments, surgical table, birthing bed, 15 hospital beds and computers among other requested supplies.
Duquesne University’s Physician Assistant program, also with support from Mr. Peirce, is sending a team of students who will be working in ELWA Hospital. They leave Pittsburgh on July 1 and will be hand-carrying requested pharmaceuticals donated by BBF as well as laptop computers donated by community individuals.
