Brother’s Brother Foundation Sends First of Five Containers to Haiti

Brother’s Brother Foundation (BBF) is working with colleague agency Food for the Poor out of Miami, FL to provide assistance to the 800,000 people in Haiti affected by Hurricanes Gustave, Hanna, and Ike.

Brother’s Brother Foundation is responding to a request for help and sending the first of five cargo containers to Port Au Prince, Haiti on Monday, September 15, 2008. Medical equipment and pharmaceuticals that include antibiotics, hypertensives, anti-epileptics and diabetes medications will leave from BBF’s north side warehouse. The value of this donation is approximately $5,035,000. A second medical container will include hypertensives, anti-epileptics and antibiotics with a value over $4,000,000. A container of Crocs shoes and other humanitarian supplies will leave Pittsburgh on Tuesday, September 16 th . Two additional containers will be sent in the next few weeks. BBF anticipates additional requests for donations of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals and other humanitarian aid.
